NEW YEAR ON THE NILE
ITINERARY
DAY 1 Depart Heathrow 1500 on EgyptAir, arriving Luxor 2130. Transfer to Nile Lily for six nights.
DAY 2 Excursion to Valley of Kings, temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the sandstone colossi of Memnom (West Bank) followed by lunch on the boat. Afternoon visits to vast temple complex of Karnak and Luxor Temple (East Bank).
DAY 3 Cruise Nile via Ptolemiac Esna temple (site of ancient Thebes).
DAY 4 Along Nile to Edfu for Ptolemiac Temple of Horus (most complete of all Egyptian temples).
DAY 5 New Year’s Eve cruise to Kom Ombo with visits to the temples of Sobek and Haroeris. Evening: Egyptian Feast with Oriental Show.
DAY 6 Cruise to Aswan with visit to Agika Island, with temples relocated from the flooded island of Philae, including the Temple of Isis.
DAY 7 Optional morning visit to Abu Simbel by air visiting the great temple of Ramses II on the shores of Lake Nasser or morning at leisure. Disembark Nile Lily and transfer to airport for flight departing Aswan 1915, arriving Cairo 2040. Overnight at Sonesta Hotel.
DAY 8 Depart Cairo at 0940, arriving Heathrow 1300.
